bought the 3500MAH battery off amazon (59.99)
got it yesterday afternoon:

turned phone off, charged from 9pm-8am
turned phone on, allowed to sync contacts/mail & got 2 text messages
within 2 minutes, the phone was at 89% battery from 100% @8.05am

currently, with no GPS, no mobile data-always-on, and the phone only set to update EVERYTHING in 8 hour periods--i'm at 81% @11.35am

does this battery need to be cycled like a normal one to see it's full potential---or is my battery widget just off by some percents b/c it's not used to the full juice of this monster battery?

I have the same battery, and if I recall, you fully charge it before use. Dont let it run down completely after the first use. After it drains to around 20%, charge it. Keep it on the charger for a couple of hours after it is fully charged. You will find that the battery gets better holding a charge after a few cycles. All in all, this is a much better battery than the stock issue battery. Guys, if any of the information given is incorrect, please correct me so that I will know for future reference. Thanks.

The first couple of charges were somewhat erratic for me as well. I didn't immediately notice a big difference at first. But after a week or two it improved drastically, and stabilized. I now rarely get below 60% after 16 hours of use.

Be advised though, the first 10% of your battery will appear to drain quickly, but this is just because of the stupid trickle charge problem with the Evo. If you had an external charger, you would be able to get even more life out of the battery because it will charge it to a true 100%, but I have no desire to remove the battery cover daily to charge my battery, I am perfectly happy with the life I am getting without doing this.

I too noticed after the first charge that it went down the first 10% very quicly, but now after 36+hrs, I'm still at 50%. Can't wait until I have charge cycled it a few times... it can only get better! I am very happy with this battery, other than the slightly larger size (which doesn't bother me), it is awesome.

I'm on my 5th day with mine,I try and only charge it when fully drained, charging while the evos off, when 2-3 hours has passed the point where the batt indicator turns green I "bump"it (unplug, wait a few secs, then replug),you should see the light turn Orange at that point,I've read this process is really for the first few cycles,I've noticed good improvements.

Removing the battery and externally charging it everynite seems to be the quickest way to cut through this "conditioning" hassle, but I guess its better than contending with broken batteryDoor tabs caused by removing the door every 2days..

Is the cycling problem only the first couple charges? Or will I constantly have to leave it on the charger longer then the light says too?

Well as per the instructions that seidio included looks like that's gonna be the case...day6 here and I'm pretty much ok with the results, but I expected a little more by this point, gonna give it a few more days before I call seidio for a replacement,,,,just getting a little tired of seeing this after only one hour of Browsing after a full nites charge.....:o

okay. got it on Tuesday, charged Tues night, and now it's Saturday.

Friday morning=100%
Saturday morning=50%

that's with no holding back on any apps, leaving 'Wireless network location' on all day, and really my normal usage of probably 100 texts, about 30 minutes of web browsing.

i'm happy with the purchase. i've even told a friend with a DINC to get one.
