What a great forum. I've bailed out of the note 2 due to lack of support from Samsung/AT&T, lack of updates, etc. etc. Phone could never connect to my home wifi automatically and some other quirks. But man what a great phone.

I moved to the S4 Active instead. No problems (although I've noticed that the GPS receiver is just ok).

It's pretty clear where Samsung is pushing the money these days. I strongly considered the Note 3...

:(

Sorry to hear you issues with your Note 2. I never had any problems connecting to my home wifi, I hear you on the updates though. I rooted my Note 2 and I'm running 4.3 now :)

Since you used the note 2 before, why not consider the Note 3?

oh believe me, i did. but i was just so frustrated with the lack of support/attention that the Note 2 was getting. the n2 hardly got updates (it needed them), very little aftermarket products, and AT&T (my carrier) never really highlighted it at all. yes, some of the problems are android related but a lot more were samsung's inconsistencies with the note line. so i'm giving the S4 a shot, and so far so good with everything. you can tell when you're on the flagship product.

After being on android for about a year off of iOS, Apple did get a number of things right. One of the big things they got right was to tell the phone carriers that apple was going to do things their way 100%. That means no lame carrier logos on your phone at startup, updates pushed to all at the same time, no differentiation of the iOS among carriers, etc. It's such a pain getting android support, but once you have it humming it's solid.
