Hi all,
Short version - I'm looking for a very simple app to track average frequencies of recurring events.
I'm usually pretty good at finding apps that fit the required purpose, but this one has been a challenge and I'm seeking support from the group mind.
I want an app that I can use to track whenever a particular repeating event has occurred, and easily see some basic frequency data (an average number of occurences per day or week or whatever would be ideal.)
For example - how often do I spot a particular species of bird in my local area? How often do I practice my guitar? How often do I let my children watch television. Some events I might want to encourage more of, some I might want to limit, and some are neutral. But I don't want one of these habit or goal apps that turn everything into 'good' or 'bad' habits. And I don't want to set goals or be told when I'm successfull or not. I don't want motivational quotes or reminders or notifications. I don't even particularly want to see the data on a calendar. I just want to be able to hit a button to add a new occurence, and be able to see the average frequency as easily as possible.
It seems like a simple app I'm looking for but I haven't been able to find the right language to search for it. Maybe such a purpose-neutral app does not exist, but I have a hunch that it does and I just don't know what to call it.
I suppose if I were designing my ideal app I would also be able to switch between different types of data, eg: "average frequency per day since beginning of time" - "average per day in the last 7 days" - "average per day in the last year" etc... but that level of functionality is not necessary.
Any assistance much appreciated, and any follow up questions welcome. This is my first post on the forum so thank you for the opportunity.
