I received my 3500mAh battery from Seidio today and wanted to give everyone some preliminary thoughts and pics...
The first thing I noticed is the feel of the new back cover. Seidio's soft touch coating does indeed give it a soft feel, but it does not feel flimsy. It feels "sure" in the hand, not slippery, and even though it is a bit bigger than the stock battery cover, it maintains the "Race Car Finish" that HTC was going for. While the extra bulk may not appeal to some people, it is definitely something I actually like. The extra "humps" in the back give you something to hold on to when holding the phone in your hand and the ridges that are part of HTC's design also add to the stability. Some people stated they wanted the cover to be increased without the steps, but now having it in my hands, I disagree. If the back cover was increased in size in one piece, like a brick, I don't think it would be as comfortable as it is now, and it definitely would lose those extra design touches that make the Incredible stand out...
Next is the battery itself... It is MUCH bigger than the stock battery. It is rated at almost 3 times the capacity of the original, and as you can see in the comparison photos, almost 3 times as thick. Even with all the extra bulk, though, it only adds an additional 7/8 of an ounce to the overall weight, so those worried about it making the phone too heavy to hold can relax.
I can't wait to really put it through it's paces and will be charging the battery overnight. It states that it should be charged for at least 8 hours and subsequent charges should be left plugged in for an additional 2 - 3 hours after the charge indicator turns green. It also states that the battery will increase in performance after 5 - 6 charge cycles. Due to the charging issues on the Incredible itself, this may require "Bump Charging" a few times to get it to full capacity if it is charged in the phone. I'll let everyone know how it turns out in a few days!
