Seidio Active Extended Case: Overview and Pictures

I just received this case today. Now i currently own 5 cases (1CaseMate, 2 Epik, 1 RedLabel and 1 VZW case) for the ThunderBolt just not any for the extended battery which i just got about a week ago.

Right of the box i could tell the quality of the case was going to be a pleasure to hold. The contrast of rubber and plastic is always welcomed. I DO NOT like full silicon skins way to much. The 2 parts fit together perfectly and contrary to another Active case post on here. Is that the added bulk is not noticeable. Sure there is added bulk of course you have an extended battery, but with the case it makes it feel not so odd to hold. Have you held a TB with extended battery and no case. It just feels and looks silly.

I like the size, look and feel of it. The kick stand was one thing i was on the fence about how it would be until i got it. Once i used a few times to try it out since i really don't use the regular one any ways. I noticed why they designed it this way. Since its and extended case if the actual TB's kick stand was used it would be leaning way too far back. This just means that if you want to keep your TB's kick stand from peeling buy this case and it will absolutely keep it it untouched.

I also attached some images of the case and kick stand in use. I like this case a lot. I may not need to go back to my regular battery.

One more thing is I am using an OEM 2750mAh battery and cover from VZW. I don't know but i heard not to use the seidio battery, but i got mine half off from VZW so i didn't need to buy theirs. The kick stand also works great in portrait,

There is no difference. I tried with and without with both volumes at max and called the same automated system. I will try actual voice call later, but could not tell a difference.

When you brought up the question i was quick to think "Damn its probably going to be muffled". Its actually not. In hand or on a flat surface either way they sound near identical with case or without it.

Thanks. Mine showed as shipped on Fri. so I should get it on Maui early next week. I think it will be more protection that the "Let's Talk" case I now have that cost $16.

Got my case yesterday and I really like it...feels awesome in the hand and the added bulk is not bad at all, I actually prefer it. I could not tell any difference in the sound volume. I like this case better then the surface case I have for the stock battery.

Got mine today. Its okay... I don't know what the hell is up with that kickstand though. Are you supposed to just barely bring it out, or bring it out until it clicks? Seems cheesy as crap. But otherwise seems to be a great case. The power button is a little harder to push now, for me, but everything else seems to be squared away.

motodunner: Glad you like it. I do to. I actually believe it or not love the kick stand. WHY? Because if anyone else around me has a TB i bet the kickstand doesn't look like mine haha!

aliasneo07: Yes that's exactly how you use it. They (Seidio) doesn't seem to want to use newer designs. They also still use the old style on the holster belt clip instead of using spring loaded. Correct me if i am wrong. That is just what i heard never owned a holster from them. It feels cheap because it sounds like its breaking but i like it!

I am inclined to say yes. Only because it looks like the only contact made with the case is the lower corners of the back of the phone. This is assuming that you use your case facing in.

Unfortunately, the ACTIVE Extended is not compatible with the standard CONVERT (formerly known as Rugged) holster. The ACTIVE Extended is only compatible with the ACTIVE Holster.

Thanks for the pics, I can now happily order mine. I was a bit confused at first because I thought I read somewhere that with their built in kickstand the phone could not sit in portrait, was it this case they were speaking about? If so it looks like it is doing a dang good job holding that battery up

Sorry i have not been on here much. I am taking some classes this summer.

I am glad to have helped some people with their decisions. I know i like to see what others think about a product i want to buy. So i thought i would share.
