i have had the 3500 extended seidio battery for about a month now. it was fantastic, until a couple of days ago. used to go 12-15 hours with heavy use, now it goes barely 12 hours. i still charge the thing overnight, regardless of how much charge is left in the battery by bedtime. i usually never charge it otherwise. anyone else having this issue with decreased battery life with this thing? not sure if i was roaming or something today and yesterday which would explain the battery drain ...

Hi Maximus,

I've sent you a PM with some hopefully helpful information!

I am having a very similar situation. The only difference is it is with the 1750 mah battery. It has gotten so bad that I actually quit using the seidio battery altogether. Any help would be appreciated.

After only a month? I've had my Seido 3500 Extended battery since January and it still holds a charge like a champ. Actually since the Gingerbread update and installing Launcher Pro, the battery life has improved significantly. Maybe you have a faulty battery?

I have the 3500 mah battery and noticed a deterioration in battery performance after the Gingerbread update.

Same here, I've had my battery since march, no problems at all. With light to moderate use I'd get 20+hours. It just seems like in the past week or so (coincidentally with the gingerbread update) my phone hits the red zone by 5pm used to still be at 30% or so when I placed it to charge at 11pm or so. Is this another bug? Who knows, but no...its not just you. I'm getting this problem also.

Thought it was me ... Bought a 1750 right after they were first available ... almost a year later I started to notice issues ... Of course I'm on GB now .. But still though it moght be the battery ... So I got a new one and it seemed to be working well ... until today ... Doesn't seem to want to charge ... So now I'm not sure if it's a phone or battery thing ... Did put the old 1750 in and it charged to full ... Guess I'll keep poking around on this some ...

I wonder if people are removing their phone from the charger just as the light turns green. As a habit I leave it on there for an extra hour or two and seem to get better performance that way. I've had the extended batteries since the Treo days and they've all been great performers.

For the best battery performance, we typically recommend the following:

Drain your battery until the level reaches 15% or less and then re-charge. Like another member suggested, we do recommend leaving the battery on the charger for about 2-3 hours past when the light turns green and indicates that your device is charged.

Battery life experiences will vary according to individual, but try out the following for about 5-6 charging cycles to recondition. If you have specific questions about your situation, do not hesitate to PM me and I will do my best to help you. :)

Yea, I always leave my phone charging past the green light by a couple hours (overnight), still think gingerbread has something to do with it. Of course today my phone makes a liar outta me... 14 hrs 16 mins off charger and still at 52%... And thats with moderate data use including camera use. So not too bad today...

So as I indicated earlier, my "old" 1750 charged right up to 100% w/o issue ... The "new" 1750 twice now has at some point gone into a discharge mode. Unplugging and re-plugging it gets it to start charging again. It's currently at 51% and has typically be when it starts to discharge.

Had just stepped away and returned - boom, battery is discharging. Guess that means I just may have a dead cell in my new battery ... Should go find my meter and be a geek about this and see what voltages I get off the battery.

i am thinking of using my standard battery and seeing if the life on that one is shortened as well, in which case i can probably chalk this up to GB. another strange thing is i saw that it takes only a couple of hours for my 3500 to charge all the way, or at least the light is green. i think that's faster than my standard batt. is it possible that the battery meter is incorrectly calibrated to suit the 3500 somehow?

You could wipe the battery stats and see what happens ...

I have one of the cheap communist built 3500's and I thought it was just the crap battery. Probably is the crap battery.

I'm experiencing the same problems as well. I often question the battery readings for the 3500. I've noticed that once the battery indicator reaches the red, the battery will still last for a few hours.

my ocd has caused me to (1) order a replacement 3500 from amazon, which i will test with the current 3500 once i get it, and (2) currently testing the life of the stock battery to see if it is shorter than pre-GB. im nuts, i know.

I noticed the same thing drop in battery life of mine 3500 seideo, it used to last 12-25 he's with moderate use know its 8 he's.
I am using the latest radio with evo deck. Dont know if anyone is having the same issue as mine.
