I got my new battery today and i charged it up and it was working all day.. all the sudden my phone kept turning off. i took out the battery after 3 times of it shutting my phone down and put the original battery back into it to see if the same thing would happen and it doesnt.

The battery was at 75% and on for 6 hours of heavy use.

The battery wont even turn the phone on or when i plug it in the orange light wont even go on..

what could have possibly happened?

orange light blinked for a split second.. i hit power and it turned on.,

has yet to shutdown while on charger.. no idea whats going on but i don't want to take it off the charger yet.. for fear itll just go off again.. just gonna try and leave it on the charger from now until 8am and hopefully thatll do trick.. i think maybe i didnt give it enough time to charge when i got it.. but i did wait 2 and half hours after it was fully charged to take it off the plug. O WELL

this is weird.. i really want this to work cause i literally was on the GBA emulator for 2 hours and it barelly made a dent in this beast.. so heres hoping something freakish just happened?

The battery needs to remain plugged in for literally 8 hours the first time you charge it, but I'm not sure this is the cause for your problems. When I got mine, it took forever to get the first initial charge, even then, the battery will reach its full potential in about 6 days. Just make sure you plug it in at night and leave it plugged in all night, the green light does not mean its fully charged. It might not be a bad idea to turn the phone off for the initial charge. If you still have problems, I would call seidio.

I just charged it from 11 until 8 took it off the charger and it the phones battery sucked down to 89% and shut off..

it was already at green by 1 so it got 7 hours after this to become fully charged

thanks for your input. i just plan on calling seido like you suggested if this continues

FWIW - absolutely no problems with my EVO and extended battery.

I got my extended battery last week. My EVO arrived yesterday. So I simply installed the battery into my Hero and charged it up. Took awhile (about 6hrs). When EVO arrived, popped in the extended battery and has been flawless ever since. You know the story, new phone, so much to set up and configure, lots of stuff to download and try out. In short - lots of use.

I've only used the EVO with the extended battery - a perfect match.

Sounds like possibly a faulty battery. I've had mine for a couple of weeks and have not had any problems like this. Mine just acted kinda weird the first couple of times I charged it. I thought that it was fully charged when the green light came on, but the battery was really only at about 65%. The battery percentage would drop really fast after unplugging until it read the actual battery level, but after leaving it plugged in overnight, that problem was gone.

It has to be a fualty battery. Theres nothing wrong with my phone when i plug in my stock battery. i let it charge from 11pm to 8am and by 1am the light was green so it got a good 7 hours after being "fully charged". I unplgugged it from the charger.. the battery drained to 80% in a minute and half and then shut the phone down.

I emailed seido and although i orderd mine from mobilecity online i hope they will be kind enough to replace it.. i was really looking forward to being able to heavy use my phone all day.

Sigh. after calling seido and explaining to them the problem they said it was indeed a faulty battery so i had to ship it back.

Waiting another week to really use my phone the way i to (ALOT) is gonna be a pain..

I believe your phone couldn't put up with the ugliness of this new battery pack.
