Firstly I have to get this off my chest: it pisses me off that I am forced to sink hours of my time searching through forums and lists of questions for potential solutions to my particular problem . It is tedious and time consuming and inefficient. Ok thanks, I feel better. I want to be able to select all emails in my gmail app inbox ON MY PHONE so that i can mark them all as read. Note, going to a PC or other device is not what im after. On my LGV10 phone only, how can i mark all emails as read? Lots of time invested in this seemingly simple task but no luck. Am once again aggravated by Google apologies for being grouchy about all this.

I don't believe there's a way to Select All in the Gmail app. The best you can do is multi-select emails (by first long-pressing an email, then tapping the circular avatar/letter on the left of each email to multi-select), then tap the opened envelope icon at the upper right to mark them as read.

If you find this unacceptable, then try a 3rd party email client app. I'm not sure which ones out there might have this function. Good luck!

No way to do this. I've complained about this before and it's on my review for the app in the play Store. You have to do it on a PC only at this point.

Thx for taking time to respond. I have pretty much resigned to the reality, it can't be done im the app. Pretty weak, Google, pretty weak.
