Selection boxes beside files under MyFiles

Just got a new Tab A up and running but the MyFiles app doesn't show the selection boxes beside the filenames like it did on my old tablet. They will appear if you go into a folder and select Edit from the More option at the top of the screen but that only shows the selection box for that folder. How do I set it up so that selection boxes automatically appear in all folders?
