Selfie Stick with Audio cable

I have the new note 5 and trying to get my selfie stick to work on this model. The audio has been set to take pictures but does not seem to work. This use to work on my S4 ,has anyone had the same issue have run out of places to find the answer AT&T was no help.

I think you need the volume key to take pictures turned on.
