I'm looking at changing ecosystems. I'm looking for a handset that more fits my lifestyle. I'm looking for one that is more rugged yet doesn't look like a tank. This phone meets all my environmental requirements. The battery life seems amazing as well. It is very pleasing to the eyes as well. Why has this handset not taken over the market???

What am I missing with this device? For those that have had this for a while, what do you like about it most? What do you like about it least? What features do you feel are missing? What features are exclusives that you are most proud of?

Thanks in advance!

I've only had mine for a few days now. And yes the battery life is great. My favorite feature is the two stage battery button. Other than that it's packed with apps you will probably disable. I would grab a heavy duty case with tempered glass screen protector if you are looking for rugged.

Sony didn't take over the market as they release great phones, with great battery life, but just follow specs. What they release is always high end, but the only significant thing they've released recently that others didn't was 3gb of RAM in the Z3. When that came out, it was one of, if not the first to do so. Releasing a new flagship every 6 months hasn't helped. Maybe they'll do something with the Z4 in the summer to change that...

Battery is great - I use my phone a LOT, and on a normal day, unplugging at 6am and back on the charger at 11pm, I'm rarely below 25%, and often more. More moderate/average usage could get the 2 days that Sony tout (although that would be at a push I think).

You have to get a case, even a slim one. It's shame in a way as it's a nice phone to look at, but it slides all over the place. Even on a flat surface, vibrations from a nearby speaker have moved mine around and it's fallen off, and it can be quite slippery in the hand for the same reason. And it is a 2 sheets of glass stuck together, so a case-less drop outside might lead to a smashed screen... and the back is normal glass - not Gorilla, so it's liable to some scratching from day to day use. The only other downside I can think of are the quite large bezels at the top and bottom, but then that's what you get for having 2 front facing speakers, and they are of very good quality (and back speakers stink!).

It's very fast, and the 3gb of RAM means multi-tasking & heavy gaming are a breeze, and I've never had any lag. I have 7000+ songs on my SD card and the Walkman app is a nice music option. It's fully integrated with the PS4 if you have one too. The screen is very sharp, and the brightness goes very high should you need it. Call quality is good, although I've used phones that have better quality when on speaker phone. It's fine though. And it's water/dust proof. I did what any self-respecting tech ***** would do when I got it, and dunked it in a pint of water, and it was fine. But really, it's just nice to pull your phone out in the rain or whatever, without having to shield it from the elements. That's the real benefit.
