Selling my gear s2

So im selling the watch and the buyer first asked if there's a reactivation lock on it. Had no idea what he was talking about. Then spoke with samsung took it off.
Now he wants to know if its ok for him to pair the watch before purchase. My gut is telling me not a good idea. But i could be paranoid. Is it safe for him to pair it?

Honestly, they need to pay before they do anything else.
Thats what i ended up telling them too.
They asked about the lock. So i said how do i know they wont attempt to lock to their account. Didn't hear back. Guess they WERE trying to be shady. Sad.
 
I do know that with the eSIM that is in the devices (at least with A&T), you do need to de-register it from your account (I just found out recently when buying another Gear S2 used), otherwise, they cannot register it to your account (new owner).

Since this is not a physical SIM, they need some protections against theft.
