Semi-bricked my phone - new as of 2 weeks ago

Got a new Optimus S a few weeks ago, had all the latest updates, so I think it was ZVH...

started reading about rooting, and used KP500 to flash a ZV9 rom... upon completion it was black screen, "adb devices" saw the phone in recovery no matter what, screencast didnt work.

I then tried the same process with ZVD, and got it to go from the LG logo, do a Sprint bootup animation, but then would just hang at the Sprint logo.

Just tried some unbricking instructions, using KP500 and emergency mode with ZVC... now it gets to the Sprint logo and after about 10 seconds goes into the recovery menu.

I just tried to apply the ZVH update.zip from the SD card, it installed and wrote the radio then rebooted to just hang at the Sprint screen...


Not sure what to do now.

can you boot into recovery at all?

I would return it to Sprint since it won't be obvious that you tried to root it.

Follow the ZVH rooting thread. It has been updated and is easier for situations such as yours. Make sure you re-read the instructions fully.
