So Tablet Talk does not work with iOS so I am out of luck there. Is there any other apps that will allow me to send texts or even calls to my nexus tablet?

Thanks.

I poked around a bit, and it seems like you a need a jailbroken iPhone to implement such functionality (big surprise).

I could be wrong about this, but that is as far as I have gotten. I'm sorry.

Now I am having difficulty finding what I came across yesterday. I should have just posted what I found and assumed you were jailbroken.

I wonder if it had something to do with HandCent forwarding SMS to an email address or Web interface from the iPhone.

I'll keep looking. Sorry about that.

Why are you limiting it to text messages?

Find a cross platform messaging service or just use GTalk. I find GTalk works very well and I tell people I prefer that they contact me that way instead of texting me. I can respond from my tablet, phone or computer.

Because the person wants to be able to send texts from their number on their tablet. Pretty simple.

I realize this isn't exactly what you are looking for, but a free Google Voice number could solve this. You can send and receive your texts anywhere, on pretty much any device capable of Google Talk or with a web browser.

I agree. Google Voice and Talkatone are both free and you can link your mobile number to your tablet. Pretty cool to make a phone call from your N7!!!!

Well, keep in mind that actually making phone calls is a little trickier. In my case, I got a VoIP line and an inbound-only number to forward to it, then added that number to Google Voice. Personally, I'm using a PAP2T on my home Internet to bridge that to an analog phone.

That way, when my wife receives a call on her Google Voice number, the call forwards to her VoIP line (which is free) and her AT&T Galaxy S2 (which costs money for airtime) and she can just answer whichever line she chooses to. And when she wants to make a call outbound, she can log on to Google Voice and initiate the call from there, and the VoIP line rings, then Google connects her to the party she wants to talk to.

At some point, I'll get a VoIP client installed on her phone, and you could do the same with the Nexus7.
