Sending camera pic through MMS

When sending a picture taken with the camera through the default messaging app results is a really compressed small picture. Typically 24k or less . Is there anyway to send a higher quality picture? I have the limit at 2MB. On my Pre I could send nice high quality pics without problems.

it seems to only do it to camera pics. because i just mms'd a pic i have and it went full mb

You could always take the pic and then go to the pic in the gallery and send it as a MMS that way and get the full quality that way, a little more time but it will work that way.

they could at least let us send more then 1 picture at a time in a normal sms message if they're going to compress the picture that small!

Even when I go to the gallery and try sharing a camera pic using messages, I get a "Picture too large" and it compresses it to 24k. Is there some other way to send a pic through the gallery? I am viewing the pic, pressing the menu button, selecting Share and then selecting Messages.

You could always take the pic and then go to the pic in the gallery and send it as a MMS that way and get the full quality that way, a little more time but it will work that way.

My pics still get compressed to under 20 KB this way.

Use Handcent SMS. It handles MMS messages much better then the default.

Yes.

I also just tried to send the same pic (1MB) straight from the gallery. It's compressed the same way, so not sure what that previous poster did.
