for some reason, when I send high quality photos via mms, the photos are sent in low quality. where can i change this setting?
thanks, but i've been posting on these forums for a few days now, and it seems like every obvious option that should be stock, needs an app. very disappointingThats's how it is on the stock messenger. What I did was download Handcent from the market. You can customize this app so much,it is great. After you download this app. Go into the settings and in the
"Send" settings check the 5MB OPTION in the mms size limits.
.Also go back to the stock messenger settings and turn off all the notification options so you won't. Get multipule notifications when a text arrive.
Now when you want to share that great 8mp shot?
simply select share and then scroll to handcent and select it. And you're good to go.
Thing to note? There are certain wireless carriers
That have a Size limit on incoming text files.( At&t?) Maybe?
If you receive an error message about the files size to large, etc?
You will either have to send a lessor 3mp shot next time, or send it
To their email address if you want to send that awesome 8mp shot
Hope this.helps!

i like handcent so far. a shame the UI is so low quality. i mean the misc graphics of course. probably designed for smaller android phonesLike you I had this problem. I called Sprint on this and they have have no solution regarding this issue. That's just how the stock messenger works. It will compress the files, even if you have the mms size set to 2MB. At first I didn't want to got the handcent route. But after
Downloading Handcent. I must say it is a much much better messenger than the stock messenger.
For example. You can change the colors of the background(mines is black),incoming text( fluorescent blue),outgoing text(flourescent green),color of
hyperlinks, notification symbols, etc, etc, and of course the 5MB file size with no compression.
Bottom line if you want to send a full 8 MP photo?
The stock messenger will not do.
btw, i set handcent as my default for opening new messages from 'notifications'. how do i set it back to stock without uninstalling it?
