Senior launcher won't support MMS messages or save photos to Gallery???? HELP

[AC Question]

I just downloaded the 'Big Launcher' app for my 88 year old mom's first smartphone. It's a very functional app and makes it easy for her to learn to use the phone. However, it does not support saving photos to her 'gallery' folder on the phone, nor will it allow her to attach a photo to any outgoing text messages (won't support MMS). Anyone have an idea for a simple fix for this situation?
The folks at Big Launcher said to find some other app for reading them. Then, it will probably also auto-save them (the photos).

"Textra" is a great SMS/MMS app. It is highly configurable for colors and font size.
