Sense UI Force Close

I have a 2.1 Droid Eris. Problems originally started with Google Maps and other stock programs force closing. Now, whenever I turn on the phone, it tries to boot, then displays "Sense UI has an unexpected error" and I have to force close. It then tries to restart and I get the same error. Stuck in a loop that renders my phone unusable.

I have done a hard reset on the phone 3 times and there are no apps installed.

Any help?

had that happen twice with the first two eris's i owned within the first 30 days so i got replacements immediately
