Serious help needed

Ok, here is my problem. I had my phone rooted and then unrooted because my voice navigation and camcorder wasn't working. When I unrooted my software was saying 2.1update1 and said my system was up to date. So then I tried re-rooting my phone again and it worked but then after rooting it gave me the message for a system update, so I updated. So now it's rooted and on 2.2 but when I download roms, I cant load them. It does nothing and when I try to flash recovery or fix permissions it gives me an error code. NOW just today, my market disappeared!! I have no market icon on my phone and have no idea where it went. So I tried using the PB file to unroot my phone again but it said my current phone software was newer then the update in that file so now I cant even unroot. Is there a way to get my phone back to how it came out of the box and use a different way to root??? I have to have my market back and have no clue how to get it. Someone please help!!!
