Serious issues with Motorola Alert on first gen Moto E!! HELP!!!!

I've had my first gen Moto E for a little over a year now and I recently opened motorola alert and added my emergency contact and my home as the only location. It's only been a few days since I activated it. The first day or so, my contact (my husband) was getting texts a couple times an hour or so stating that i had left home, then I had come home, repeatedly. It showed that I had come back home more than a dozen times that afternoon and evening when my phone was sitting next to both of us plugged in to the charger and hadn't moved from that position all day. I went in to turn off the alerts and change the settings in the app as per the instructions on the motorola site, but that didn't work. After reading some forums from people with similar issues with the app, I followed the best suggestions I found there by accessing it through settings to clear the data, uninstall updates, and disable the app. That STILL didn't work! He was still getting regular texts stating that I was home. There were only a few of the first alerts he got with this app that said I had left home, all the others said I arrived back at home. With the Alert app being disabled in settings, I then went in and did a force stop on it. I also turned all of my location services off. The app was restored to the factory version when I uninstalled the updates. That night, I powered my phone down. Shut it completely off, and he STILL got several texts that night saying I was home! I'm pretty tech savvy and I can usually work out any issues I come across, but this one has me stumped! After the app was set back to the factory version and he was still getting regular updates, I opened the new again app, which did still have my one contact and one location in there. I deleted all the information in the app, went back to settings to clear data and disable it again, and there are still regular updates being sent, though they are now down to about every 4 to 5 hours. I've searched for answers online, but the most in-depth answer, and most involved question from a troubled Alert user, was solved by disabling the app in the settings. Do you have any suggestions? Currently, Alert is disabled with data and updates cleared, and I have force stopped. I have a constant notification at the top of my screen saying GPS needs to be on and set to high accuracy mode in order to detect your location and activity. This app is still sending the same update regularly stating I am home. My phone has only traveled from the dining room table to a room 40 or 45 feet away since installing this app, other than the first couple hours after setting it up. We went to the store, it said I left, we came back, it said I came back. That was the only time it did what it was supposed to. How can I get it to stop sending updates? If I have the app and my location all disabled and turned off, then what is sending these alerts? I appreciate any information you can give me!
