Service suddenly worse at home

Hi,

The service on my Triumph took a turn for the worse over new year's weekend. It was working fine when I was home, but now I can't connect. The signal is constantly dropping and fluctuating. When I get away from home, the phone works fine. My wife and daughter can't connect either when they're home. Same thing for them, the phone works better when they are away from home. I asked VM if the local tower/antenna was working correctly and they informed me several times that everything was alright at my location and the tower was working fine.

I don't think the tower is working correctly since it not just my phone but two others. VM has escalated my request and I am due an answer tomorrow or Friday. I figure VM will probably tell me the tower is working just fine.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? Is there a way I can force the phone to use a different tower?

Are you rooted?
Are you running the stock rom if rooted?
If not what rom are you running?

What I have done to my phone, rooted CM7, is download motimizer from the market and went through all the 3g tweeks to find one that made things a little better. Well seems like it did. I used the 3rd tweak. On CM7 you can go in mod settings and go to I believe network n you can make some adjustments there.

I am sure someone will come buy and tell me I am wrong so stay tuned.

Oh you can also, if rooted, update your prl. I didn't get into that but it seems to help others. When I get the time I am going to give it a try.
