I just got the phone today and cannot figure out how to turn it on vibrate...I have to be missing something easy. Usually there is a choice for it in the Sound Profile or just turning the ringer volume all of the way down...This is driving me insane, Would appreciate any help

See the switch on the left side above the volume rocker? Use that. You can customise exactly what it does under settings>alert slider.

Alternatively, press the volume up key and tap the bell on the ringer volume pop up that appears to just set the ringer to vibrate.

The "Alert Slider" settings can only configure settings in the pre-programmed configuration of the slider. Middle is Priority and top is Silent. unfortunately no Vibrate mode. You'd have to root the phone and load a module to change that setting.

You're 2nd suggestion is bang on for switching to Vibrate mode. :)

Cheers

You're quite right, the alert slider doesn't appear to have a vibrate option, maybe they should add it in.

At least I covered my bases and included the correct solution though ;)

You're welcome ... I guess lol.

You can set the silent function to vibrate. It's in the settings for the slider.

really? I just looked and the Alert Slider setting for Silent Settings are only "Alarms and Media".

Would you be able to post a picture? do you by any chance have the beta OS installed?

Thanks

Someone told me to install Power Toggles. I did and installed the widget. It has worked like a Champ. Can now have Vibrate whenever I want to use it. Until there is an update of some sort to do it on stock, I will continue to use this as a great workaround. The problem with using the Vibrate option through Silent through the Alert Slider is that my Android Wear watch would read it as it is in Do Not Disturb.

Are you on the 3 or 3T? I used a 3T the other day (don't have it now - or I'd show you) and it had this option in the settings. There is a specific setting for the notification slider. There is ring, priority, and silent. You can change what comes through in priority and you can change the silent mode to be actually silent or vibrate. It might be a 3T only setting right now.

I have the OP3. I believe the OP3T comes with the Oxygen OS 3.5, which may include this feature.

Thanks for the info.

No problem. I thought that might be the case. Hopefully this will come your way with the 7.0 release.
