Hello all, first of all I am new to this board and new to android in general. I have always had an iphone (ever since it was first released), I have decided to go with the s3. I love the phone but it does have its frustrations and is a bit laggy at times, but none of this has really bugged me until now. For some weird reason when I go to websites that have video's on them the default video player doesn't play the video's anymore, it plays the video directly from the site and I do not like that because it doesn't fit to the screen and when I zoom in to far it will not zoom out. My question is how do you set the video player to play the video's that you select instead of it playing the the website? It used to do it, but for some reason it stopped, maybe its something that I downloaded, I do not know. Please help me out, I am so frustrated with this.

Also how do you post a new topic on this forum?????? I do not see "new post" like I do on other forums. The only way that I was able to post this was because something popped up saying "please introduce yourself"

At some point, you probably selected the browser to play a video and checked a box that made it the default. To clear defaults, go to Manage Apps->All, select Browser, and scroll down to Browser. Then scroll down to the section "Launch by Default,", and tap "Clear defaults." The next time you select a video from the web, it will ask you again what app you want to play it on. Make sure you don't check the box for making whatever app you choose as default, unless you really mean it.

Also, post a new topic by clicking the "New Thread" button.

I tried that and but now and now it doesn't play at all, it shows a little blue box were the video is was now

Try going to Manage Apps->All->Browser, and clear the cache. If that doesn't work, trying clearing data.

tried that as well, as soon as I go to the website, it just opens up the video that I selected. What phone do you have, and does it do the same thing?

I have a Motorola Razr Maxx. I find that if I go to the YouTube website and select a video, it plays on the website rather than giving me the option of selecting an app to play it on. However, if I go to ESPN.com and select a video there, it gives me the option of playing it in the Browser or on MX Player (my main video app).

Which website are you using?

Go to THE OFFICIAL SITE OF THE ATLANTA HAWKS right below were it says Kia Motors then click on the tab that says Video: Hawks reading zone makeover. If I click on any of the videos they all open up without giving me a prompt.

When I went to espn it asked by the way.

I can't get that Hawks video to work outside of the browser either. I would guess it has to do with the specific video format, and whether it can be played by a media player in the first place, or if it's limited to playing from the browser.
