setcpu for better battery

I am having trouble using setcpu...I would like to simply increase battery life on stock rooted Inc. I have found setting that I searched but when I input then the big letters on the front screen still say 998mhz...any ideas

Sorry man. I've never used SetCPU myself. I understand what it does/can do but I'm not familiar enough with it to help you set up a profile. I think I remember Crondable said he used it, but I might be mistaken.

What settings are you changing? the scaling or are you setting up profiles?

I don't know what settings to change that is the problem

under profile, enable it make one for screen off and cpu all the way down for both. saves battery
