Android Central Question
Hi.
I have an xperia xz1 compact - running Android 8.
The phone is on vibration mode.
For e-mails I would like to have the LED blink for notifications however I do not want e-mails to trigger vibration.
I cannot seem to get such a configuration up and running. Anyone know if it's possible?
Notification channels I have tried:
- Low: no LED indicator, no vibration
- Medium (show silently) - no LED indicator, no vibration
- High (make sound) & Always vibrate off - LED indicator - phone still vibrates (I think because the phone is in vibration mode the sound notification is taken as a vibrate).
in all instances, the advanced option "Always pulse notification light" is enabled.
To me it seems that there is a bug, "Always pulse notification light" should take precedence over the "Medium" channel for example and make the LED blink.
So is it possible to keep the phone in vibrate mode but have new e-mails trigger the LED indicator only without vibrating?
(reason is, i always have the phone in vibrate mode and on my desk... for things like SMS and phone calls I want it to vibrate but for e-mails I do not need vibration but the LED indicator is a good indicator that I have e-mails without turning the phone screen on).
I used to be able to have such a setup on my Galaxy S6
