Setting Up "AutoFill" When Dialing A Phone Number

In my HTC Incredible the phone would "suggest" possible numbers I was trying to dial as I typed in each number. This was based on a combination of previous usage as well as contacts and I found it very useful. With the GNex you have to type in the whole phone number even if it's a number you've called numerous times in the past. Is there any way to set the phone dialer to "suggest" possible numbers based on the first few numbers inputted?

I may sound whiney here but my droid x with blur had a T9 like function that you could type peoples names in and it would give a predicted list of contacts. Also missing the ability to assign speed dials.

Also missing the ability to assign speed dials.

Although its true you cannot assign a number to a long press in the dialer..... the speed dial has, apparently, been replaced by the direct contact widget. I have simply made a folder by dragging these direct dial contact widgets over the dialer in the dock which serves as a very similar concept to speed dial.

I've used Dialer One (free in the Market) in the past - it has this functionality. I've also seen recommendations for RocketDial, but it's not free.

I don't think there's a way to configure this functionality with the stock dialer.
