Settings Extended Notification Doohickey

On my Nexus 7, the Settings Extended icon bar is always at the top of the notification slide. When new notifications arrive, they appear below Settings Extended.

But on my new LG G2 (wow, is this phone better than the S4 I just replaced!), the Settings Extended icon bar stays at the bottom, and newly arrived notifications appear above it.

Any thoughts about whether this behavior is controllable? I like how it behaves the Nexus 7 better!

Hahahah! Just figured it out!

You have to turn the notification decorator on, not hidden, and then the icon bar will stay at the top.
