Settings for unlocked Verizon Galaxy s3?

I recently got an unlocked Verizon galaxy s3, and am trying to use it with my t-mobile sim card. I have already gone to the "preferred network mode" menu and chose GSM/UMTS. Currently I can call and text but I can't get the data to work. I tried setting the APN with the t-mobile settings, but so far that hasn't been successful. In the notifications window, there is a message that says "Phone activation: This SIM card is from an unknown source". I'm stumped as to what I should try next.

You'll need to contact T-mobile and they should be able to send you a new SIM card. It sounds like you may have a problem SIM card to me.
