Lol. Its not behind. I mean only the nexus from I/o have Jelly bean. (Unless you are rooted) The s3 will get jelly bean. May take awhile but it will be "up to date" but if u look at % how many devices have ICS? So it really isn't behind if u look at the grand scheme of things.

I can't believe I preordered it. The guy at the iStore told my my android OS is all fragmented. For those who don't know, "fragmented" means that the reason you buy the device, and all the fun apps you use, the games you play, the productivity apps you use to keep organized... those all CEASE TO FUNCTION, as soon as the latest android OS is released. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!

Now all I am going to have, is essentially, a fancy plastic hammer.

Who woulda thunk that a technology manufacturer would be working on the next version of anything until the previous version had been out and about for at least a year or two. Samsung has sure got a lotta gall to be trying to stay ahead like that.

Geeez. Since when did OS updates ever correlate to being so amazingly awesome that we're in the dark ages if we don't have the latest update?

I don't know about you guys... but I see everyone go bonkers about the latest OS revisions, be it Android or iOS and then I look at the improvements and am never floored. It's usually some small workflow improvements for things I never complained about to begin with.

An OS update is not going to magically make my life 20x easier than the previous version, not even 2x easier. I just don't get the freak out associated with OS updates. I'm still on Ubuntu 10.04 at home since it's LTS. And the only reason I upgraded my DAW (digital audio workstation) to Windows 7 was to support the newest software I bought and was installing.

Quite the opposite actually. Staying on an existing OS is much better than updating to a brand new OS as far as app compatibility is concerned. Many apps that work perfectly on Ice Cream Sandwich do not work on Jelly Bean right now. I've seen people say they are actually going back to ICS because some of their must-have apps aren't functional.
