SGS3 - Where'd my memos go?

I hate s memo. Still, I use it. I jot stuff down, and keep adding to it now and then, so I had a growing list of items, notes, things I needed to remember. As a test, though, I'd written a memo and did not tap save. Still, my note was always there, every time I went back to s memo. But today, I added a new note, and then a 3rd one after that. So what happened to the original notes I'd written? They'd been in my phone for months, since I got the damn thing. Now they're gone. Where did they go?
