Since the kitkat update, the top of my screen has a shadow on it similar to the shadow settings on Nova launcher's settings. If I check the shadow box in the Nova settings, it looks pretty much the same. I can't find a way to get rid of it.
Has anyone else seen this on their phone as well?

There is a shadow effect on my nexus 5 and moto x too. Maybe not as dramatic as the one on the note 3.

Same thing on mine. I prefered the completely transparent notification bar.

Agreed. It looks like there is something wrong with the display. It's irritating in the fact that when it wasn't transparent by default, I could use Nova settings and make it completely transparent. Now, the settings don't override the stock launcher settings.

f you are using Nova got to settings and set it for transparent notification under look and feel menu. See if this helps...if using stock I don't have a clue why this would have changed.

I have this on my phone too but it doesn't really bother me. I never really noticed this until you pointed it out. Does it interfere with your phone?

This doesn't work with Nova, either. There is still a shadow.

Sorry I didn't notice as my wallpaper is black at the top...maybe we should let Nova developers know about this.

I tried with light wallpaper and the shaded area did show...probably because notification icon are now white and would be hard to see against light background.

Had the same problem. If you're rooted I was able to get it working again with the "Translucent style" xposed module. I'd link but I just created this account to respond and it won't let you link until after 10 posts. But you can google it!
