It's still a good deal, however the Pixel 2s normal warranty was extended to two years shortly after release. I was in a hurry when I pre-ordered mine so I didn't get the warranty. Didn't realize I couldn't add it later.

That was the first phone I broke in like 9 years. But I'm not going to count it since I Broke it while being sick lol

The only phone I ever broke was several years ago when I got in to my car and the phone slipped out of my pocket as I sat down and fell to the pavement. I didn't notice it happened and proceeded to back up and smashed that sucker flat! You talk about a cracked screen! And I had full replacement insurance with a carrier at the time and walked in to the store with my flattened phone and they just smiled and handed me a new one. I've always made sure to add replacement insurance to every phone I've purchased since!

I do have the Verizon Insurance on it but feel like I'm redundantly overpaying for the normal warranty. I wish they offered the damage and loss protection separately like they used to.

That monthly 10 sucks or 129 up front for preferred protection sucks but sure beats 1000 dollars for a new phone

These days it's more than $10 a month I think it's more like 13

I never pay monthly on anything if I can help it. It was a one time payment of $99.

I did the exact same thing so I ended up getting a squaretrade warranty for $129 for 2 years.

I believe in the past (maybe still) the carrier insurance, I think Verizon, covered loss and theft in addition to damage. If so, the extra cost is worth it.

They do but I'm also paying for warranty repairs which is redundant especially since Google is covering for two years. In the past you could buy the loss damage with warranty coverage and it was more reasonable.
