Shipping with Nougat!

Kind of a pleasant surprise. I wonder what other "surprises" LG has for us with the V20.

I don't normally upgrade that often but I may make an exception if the V20 goes with a twin camera, good audio, replaceable battery, and a few other features that suit me.

This is good news but I hope it retains the same build quality of the V10. If the V20 ends up being just a bigger version of the G5 with modules then I'm not interested.

I highly doubt it's going to be modular. From what I understand this will be separate from the G line unless the two converge at some point.

They just need to slap a huge battery in it. If the battery lasted on the V10, I would still have it to this day. Still my favorite phone to this day

^This. It was a hard decision giving up my V10 for the S7 Edge but battery life on the V10 was abysmal, even with the capability of swapping out batteries. I would have to use 2 batteries to get through 1 full day with the V10 and with the S7 I could get through a full day on a single charge. Even after having the S7 Edge for several months now there are things I miss about the V10.

This is the same switch that I made. Same exact circumstances. Hope they really step up Battery Life

My thoughts exactly. I made the same switch for the same reasons

Seems like quite a few of us went from the v10 to the s7 edge lol. The battery on the v10 was really bad, but I had 2 spare battery kits that made it bearable. I had a hard time getting over the screen on the v10 though coming from a note 4. I'm really hoping lg goes amoled this time around.

I think it was smart for LG to announce this days before the Note7 announcement. I'm sure they have stolen a few people from Samsung by this move. Samsung is going to announce that they will have marshmallow and try to promise that Nougat will be released really soon. This makes the note 7 seem outdated in the eyes of some because we all know that we won't see nougat through these carriers for months.

Brilliant!!

So was this battery problem ever addressed or explained? Was it a hardware problem? Software? Something related to that extra notification display?
And if the problem was never tracked down, does that mean it's likely to affect the V20, too?

Like you I want the wide angle lens + bundled distortion software optimized for the V20.

I also want wireless fast charging.

Currently here's where I am:

  • V20 shipping with Nougat is good
  • V20 will likely have great headphone audio
  • Camera will also likely be great

But
  • I already have a Gear S2
  • Samsung is offering a sweet promo on the Note 7
  • I have a TON of wireless chargers in my house and at work. I want to be able to use those.
  • Rumor is the Note 7 has an upgraded DAC compared to the S7e, but I'm not sure if this is true.

I really, really want to like the V20 more than the Note 7, but I think LG will have to do more than they are going to in order for me to switch.

So this is me wanting September 6th to get here quick! I'll probably pick up the Note 7 when it would still keep me within the return window for the V20 launch, but still able to get the promo for the Note 7 (want that big SD card).
