I just got my S5, great phone. I am used to a smaller phone. I use the back button (bottom right, looping arrow) often and it can be a bit cumbersome; a bit of thumb gymnastics. Is there a shortcut for "back"?

I use solo launcher, and there are gestures you can set up. Unfortunately there is currently no back shortcut, but other launchers might have something like it.

ok, thanks. kinda odd. Seems like a no brainer to take the button that I probably use most and make it a bit more accessible. I hold phone in my right hand, so i have to slant phone just to get my thumb down there. I am getting a cramp! I know, first world problems right?

There's nothing like that in Nova as well. I think the reason must be that "back" is an action inside the app you're in and not a general one. To do this every app had its own back button, usually top left.

There are different ways to have a shortcut for the home button or for recent apps but none for back.

Tricky for a big phone. Top left or bottom right, in your case.

You can have a movable onscreen back button using button savior non-root or back button no root apps from the play store.
Also there should be an option for touchwiz onscreen buttons in the accessibility section in settings.
