It seems when I make shortcuts on my device sometimes they jsut show as little blue boxes but still load the application. Is this a known bug?

I did some searching because I had one game app whose shortcut kept reverting to the generic blue icon after a shutdown. The issue is that some Market downloads may be mistakenly put in the media area. It's apparently a known bug in the Moto interface. In Manage Applications when you bring the app up, it may be listed in media. If it is, click Move to Phone. That solved the problem for me.

I would of never thought of that. I have an app named Password Safe Pro that from time to time turns to the blue icon (normally after it updates). I will have to see where it is installed to.

What do you know.....you were right. I checked to see where the app was stored and it was in the media storage, so I moved it back to phone. I'll let you know if it ever turns blue again.

Must be app specific. I have numerous apps stored in the media area and the icons show normally. Never had the problem. Phone is stock and not rooted.

Tends to be more with apps that use internet or have data. I have an OG Droid, and if you put certain apps on sd card (whether on purpose or out there by market), after a reboot, I see the blue icons until fully booted. (Needs to fully read sd card).
