My buddy accepted the update on accident(first android device)and he still has su access but apps don't see it. It wasn't a good thing to accept the update but I'm sure I can hammer it out for him

Please let me know if you can! I accepted it too. What a n00b mve seeing I've had the d1 for a long time :(

Yea I tried to take mine back to get a new one without the update... No dice... I'm hoping you awesome devs come up with a work around soon... I'd like to at least have root for a little while before my 14 day window to return the phone is up... rom or at least an overclock kernel would rock but thats probably wishful thinking in that timeframe tho huh...

If that doesn't happen I'll probably return the phone and hold out for the bionic or s2.. Intentionally bought the phone with the 14 day return window overlap the samsung announcement event on the twenty fourth

Too bad they postponed that announcement.

Alas, I am floating in the sea of n00bdom as I updated too. Will we be able to root updated phones so I can be 1337? Is asking to be 1337 not 1337? Will the undercover officer survive in the season finale of Chicago Code?

Only time will tell......

If you want root hold off on the update , I think you become 1337 when others say you are. But asking doesn't help. The first rule of fight club and all.....lol

Haha I'm just kidding, making my post ironic and making fun of myself I'm the process. Thw way i look at it is if you can't make fun of yourself, you're living life way too seriously.

But in terms of the update, I updated it accidentally during the phone setup. I realized I screwed up as soon as I pressed update. There is limited hope for anyone in this situation? I am assuming its just a matter of time until someone finds a way to overcome the update.
