Android Central Question

Hello, (i'm not very familiar with phones so sorry if my questions are stupid)
I want to buy an unlocked used phone ,but it has some preinstalled applications of it's phone carrier , first does it make sens for an unlocked phone to have these apps? And i had a phone in the past that worked fine with other carriers but wouldnt recieve updates for some reason, so i thought its because i used a different carrier than the original one ,is there any truth to this ?
Thanks for your answers and sorry for my english

Welcome to Android Central! It's common for an unlocked phone that was sold by a specific carrier to have that carrier's bloatware. It shouldn't affect the performance of the phone on a different carrier, and you can typically Disable a lot of those apps in the Settings>Apps menu (although because they're preinstalled, you generally can't uninstall them completely). Carrier-specific phones usually need to be on that carrier's network in order to receive the official update, because the firmware is specific to that phone. So if you use it on a different carrier, you won't get official updates.
