Looking at the Z2 Force AT&T variety on sale for $399. I don't game or watch video, I browse, text, email, and do a lot of calling while driving using Android auto for navigation and Pandora/Google Play. I assume the Z2 will handle that w/out lags or hiccups. Is that correct? I coming from a Moto G4, so it will obviously be a big improvement.

Other questions:

  • Does it come w/ an adapter for 3.5mm connection?
  • How is the bluetooth connection? How far can you roam?
  • Will it automatically select Aptx or Aptx HD depending upon what I am connecting to or does it default to Audio Effects or something else all the time?
  • Not sure if new vehicle I'm buying has Aptx or Aptx HD. How does audio sound in vehicles using the Z2 and Android Auto?
  • Do any of the wireless chargers work in an auto that has a "cup" for Qi charging or does the phone/battery pack need to lie flat on a charging disk?
  • Is a battery pack needed? If yes, which one works best?

Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

TIA

It should work fine based on your usage, with little or no lag. I will try to answer what I know.

Yes, it comes with a USB-C to 3.5MM adapter.

It should charge on any good Qi charger, doesn't have to be laying flat. But....it does not have wireless charging natively because of the Moto Mod magnets. You will have to buy a wireless charging Style Shell. They are around $30 from Moto or Best Buy.

You don't "need" a battery Mod. But they are very handy. Which one is best? Depends on what you want. If you want wireless charging, the Incipio Off Grid is the only one with that (other than the Kate Spade polka dot Mod). If you want slim and light and no external charging, get the Moto Power Pack. If you want lots of extra battery and a built-in USB-C charging port, get the Moto Turbo Power Pack.

Thanks....
Probably do not need to worry about wireless charging if I use a battery pack.

I like the feel of the Incipio Off Grid. It's smooth, yet grippy at the same time. Andnits nice to be able to charge it off the phone on any wireless charger. The Moto Turbo Power Pack is nice with the built-in USB-C connector. You can charge it off the phone and it's nice to be able to charge the phone & battery at the same time and have the phones USB-C port open for the headphone adapter. The Moto Power Pack is nice because it's the thinnest and lightest but you can only charge it while attached to the phone. They all have some pros & cons. You just have to figure out which one works best for you.

Thanks again...quick question: Which screen protector would you suggest?
TIA!
Go with one that covers the whole screen, I had one that didn't covered the top part and noticed in a few months that it was already scratched.

I can't remember the brand I am using on my Z Force, but will try to find my order on Amazon. I do know that it's a wet application tempered glass. Those seem to stick best to Shattershield.

Thanks....I found a couple on Amazon...IQ Shield and Illumi Acquashied. Unfortunately, I waited one day too long to order and now the Black AT7T which was discounted to $399 is sold out. They'll probably run some more specials as the year goes on.

if you like android auto you must get the Incipio car dock Mod. You'll have to look on eBay or Verizon store has them.
as for screen protector I really like the PureGear, comes with a nice tool to install straight

Thanks...AT&T version is back in stock and I ordered the Z2. Also ordered the TurboPack as that was also on sale. I almost ordered the Incipio offgrid for $30, but I want to be able to have cable from phone to auto and be able to charge the battery pack at the same time, though conceivably that should work with the Offgrid.

The Spigen GlastR Slim is a good screen protector that I use. Full screen 9H tempered glass that comes in a 2 pack. Fitment is good and doesn't interfere with my different cases.
