Should I "condition" my new battery?

I've just got a new battery, can anyone tell me do I need to run it right down before I recharge it (at least 3 times)

Probably depends on whom you ask. I would say just to charge it up fully, then use it normally.

With the new battery technology you no longer need to run it down. All one needs to do is what B. Diddy said in the above response.

If you can avoid it... never ever ever let it turn itself off from lack of charge.
