So I put my Epic 4G up for sale in craigslist and somebody offered to trade for a Evo Shift 4G. I considering it a lot but have several questions.

1. Is the screen big enough and will it matter coming from Super Amoled? I type with one hand because Swift Key X is very good at predicting the next word:confused:.

2. How is the GPS with Google Maps Navigation? Mine is always disconnecting and reconnecting and have to use my sons Nexus S.:-[

3. How is the build quality? being a HTC Phone I think better?

4. How is the Camera? My Epic takes really good pictures:D

5. Battery Life? Epic's is just horrible :(

6. Did the Gingerbread upgrade bring HTC Hub? It doesn't matter to me but it would be a added bonus:confused:

Yes, make the trade.

1. You'll probably kind of miss the Super Amoled but the screen is big enough for Swiftkey X... that's the same keyboard I use.

2. I have no problems with GPS, usually locks within 10 seconds.

3. Build quality is excellent, especially compared to the Epic imo. I've used my friends Epic and it just feel cheap and flimsy compared to my Shift.

4. Camera is pretty good, not sure how it compares to the Epic though. Check out this thread for some camera shot from the Shift. http://forums.androidcentral.com/htc-evo-shift-4g/54579-pics-taken-your-evo-shift.html

5. Battery life is amazing, at least for me ( I am rooted). My friend that has an Epic is constantly looking for a place to charge his phone

6. Yes, the latest update does have HTC hub along with Sense 2.1.

As long as the Shift is in good shape I think you'll be happy with the trade.

Just a side note, if your into rooting and the phone has already been updated to Gingerbread it currently can't be rooted.

I just upgraded to a shift yesterday after going through 4 Epics of which none of them worked right.

Build quality is far better. When I slide the screen up, I don't fear that it's going to snap off like I did with the Epic. I can text without keystrokes being missed. I haven't had to take the battery out yet without losing my 3g connection. My back capacative button doesn't activate on its own for no reason. I get all my email and text alerts. The list goes on and on and so far it is excelling everywhere the Epic failed me. The smaller screen is noticeable but tolerable for me, and the shift is a tad slower but not unbearably. I think you will like it.

I have played with both and i prefered the EPIC.
Sorry to hear gman79 went thru 4 of them. I had one and only one and it was awesome. Well once i rooted it and put ACS Frozen 1.1.1 on there.

Isn't the shift only an 800mhz CPU though? Would that make a difference.

Yes, but it's using a second generation processor... Which even bone stock is pretty quick.
