I just asked verizon about the 4g. He said no extra charges but the phones(htv Bolt, etc) arent supposed to come out till mid year and i am due. I am dealing with a BB 9630.

Oh, that's not good. It seem like you're stuck between a rock and a hard place. However, if you really want the Thunderbolt then wait it out, but if having a phone now is your main priority... then by all means get it. Just don't be disappointed when the Tbolt drops.

Best of luck on the choice you make.

Thanks. Do u think they would wait this long to get this phone out?

It's anybody's guest to when this phone will be out.
One thing though -
I know the carrier who's selling it will want to get it to their customers as soon as possible.

It can't be out by mid 2011, HTC already stated that they are the 'first to 4g' again. Acessories are already available through online stores, as long as it doesn't get called back (like it's cousin, the merge) it'll be out in January.

I'd say it'll be out in the next couple of months. I don't know about January, but February is a safe bet. It's got to come out soon, or HTC advertising will have a real egg on its face when the TB isn't the "first to 4G".

Verizon rep told me tonight their quotas were not increased like they normally are in the same month of major phone releases. With that being said....do not hold your breath for January

Might as well wait to see what the Thunder is all about...shouldn't be too much longer. The DX isn't going anywhere. ..make your decision then ......unless you have your mind set on the DX...get it now.

I really feel like we'll see either the TB or one of the other 3 LTE phones this month (LG, Samsung, Motorola). Verizon has a pretty good record of releasing a phone each month, so they have* to have something in January.

*Not an actual guarantee.

Given the upgrade policy Verizon will enact come the 16th, I'd really wait for the Thunderbolt. If you get the Droid X now, you'll have to wait 20 months to upgrade a device that's already almost half a year old (unless you return it and spring for a Thunderbolt before your return window is up). You need to make sure you're really happy with your device before sticking with it, and the previous generation of Android phones may not feel like a good decision when this generation starts rolling out.

I went to the Verizon store the other day to see if my contract was up (I knew it was but it wasn't showing on my computer)...anyway, I told them I wasn't looking to buy a phone that day, I was waiting for one of the new phones to come out. They asked me which I was waiting for and I told them I was waiting for the Thunderbolt...the rep looked really confused, like he had no idea what I was talking about, then all if a sudden he acted like he knew and told me it wouldn't be out for a few months and told me to come back next week because they were getting Verizons 1st 4g phone called the Incredible HD. HA! I didn't want to sound like a know-it-all customer, so I said ok thank you..and left...anyway, obviously he didn't have a clue, but maybe he did hear something about it coming next week...I wouldn't hold my breath though lol

I sure hope that's true, even tho I doubt it.

If lte is really as fast as it's made out to be, I may switch to overly expensive verizon.

something is going on at verizon stores early next week...

So do you know something for sure. Like should I return my Incredible I got 20 days ago and hold out for whats going to happen next week?

Buy a used Android phone for the time being. It'll get you away from the BB, give you a chance to learn Android and save your upgrade for the TBolt or Bionic.
