Should I purchase S20 ultra

I'm thinking of upgrading to the S20 Ultra on Verizon. I have read about focus issues with the camera, as well as other little problems. Question is if the camera issue has been fixed and if it would be good to upgrade now?

I think the S20+ would be better value. That price point for the ultra sure is awful high-- almost 2x the base model. The 100x zoom is not really all that practical and the S20+ will do everything else. Ultimately, only you can decide what you want. But there are a few things to think about.

If I was going for an S20 now, it would be the Plus and not the Ultra... Samsung screwed up the Ultra AND totally overpriced it... in my opinion...

Definirsly agree they grossly overpriced that thing. $1200 should have been the max. And the whole camera lens randomly busting makes it even worse. I would not feel comfortable at all shelling out $1400-$1600 on something that could have one of its absolute biggest selling points implode.

The issue with the Ultra isn't a problem, but a change in the camera design that has caught people off guard and many don't like. It has a more narrow depth of field, which limits how close you can be to the subject and keep it all in focus. There is no software change that can "fix" this, as it is hardware related. Your only option would be to back up to get it all in focus, then either use the digital zoom to take the photo or crop it and adjust the image size after the fact.
