Should I root?

My screen is cracked and I do not want to send my phone back now, I am wondering if I root will I be able to send my phone back for them to accept the phone

They normally don't check a phone when they get one back before the completely wipe it and format to new specs. With that being said, if you are going to send it back, always play it safe and don't root it.
