All of you people saying you have to condition the battery make baby Jesus cry.

Well, its not conditioning, so the speak, but consider it 'priming' the battery. You have to ramp the cells up for they can start working at full capacity.

It's breaking in a battery

I believe its actually breaking in the phone so that when it says its at 80% it actually is.
