I use my device for business & personal and have had S8+ for 3 years. I always thought about a Note and like the idea of the stylus.

Also love the size of S8+ which is probably why I've had it so long. Is Note 20 Ultra compatible in size and would it be an easy transition from galaxy S8+? Or is it much bigger?

Would you make this switch if you were me, why or why not?

I had the s8 and yes I would upgrade now. You will get the following
Latest updates
Better battery
Better camera
Faster device
Better screen resolution
Under warranty

With that old of a device updating to the new note is the way to go in my opinion.

To answer your size comparison question, take a peek at this:

Only you can decide, but tech wise, a smart move.

I would really suggest you go to a retail store and hold one and see if the size will work for you.

Awesome feedback so far! Does it have a slot for SD card? Also, my S8 is qwerky with WiFi is Note 20 Ultra good with WiFi?

Note 20 Ultra has SD Card, regular Note 20 does NOT.

I have not had issues with Wi-Fi. I am fortunate to have Wi-Fi 6 with Gigabit Fiber at home and it works AWESOME on that.

Absolutely

I'd upgrade to the Note 10+ instead. It's mostly the same phone, but cheaper now that it's just over a year old.

Valid. However, there is no promise from Samsung that it will get any more OS updates past Android 11... Note 20 will get them through Android 13 at least.

The 3 Android updates includes S10/Note10... did it start on 9..I can't remember.
I would still go for the Note 20 Ultra though, it is a good bit more of an upgrade from the Note 10 plus than you think, you realise it when you start using it.

While the Note 10+ is a great device the Note 20 Ultra has a few improvents. If you plan to keep your next device as long as you did your current I would get the Note 20 Ultra.

I'm hearing this is the last yr Samsung is going to make the note.
Don't know what Samsung is thinking.
Talk is they are gonna make the Samsung Galaxy with a Pen

Problem is I'm not interested in Galaxy phone.
Even if the cut the price by 600.00 and put a pen it it.

If I wanted a Galaxy I would of bought a Galaxy.

And I hear Samsung has a 600.00 phone out that has 5G that won't work anywhere in the World.
Nice going Samsung.

And I've already got mail stating Samsung is going to stop Samsung Cloud.

I wouldn't worry about that rumour just yet. The Note is still a Galaxy by the way. In any even the OP is looking for advice on upgrading from his current device not speculation about future Samsung device.

Agree you will never lose out on a Note or whatever they call it going forward with Spen... I loved the Note 10+ but I think you can get a good enough deal for Ultra... It will besgrest be great upgrade... Especially if you are business person.. You won't go backto anything else after you use one...

My wife has my old S8+ and I just did a factory reset on it since it was lagging and having issues. I was helping to set some stuff up on it and couldn't believe how slow it was compared to my Note 20 Ultra.

Definitely would be a huge upgrade for you

If you love the size of the s8+ why not try something like the s20+ or even a used s10+? The note 20 may be a little too big compared to the s8 and will you use the stylus?

If you kept a s8+ for 3 years you may be able to save a few bucks and get something faster but similar in size.

I change phones every 3 years, this year I went from S8+staan to S10 Lite and that was a great choice. Practically same size but much quicker, flat screen and awesome battery life.

Is it noticeably bigger? The size specs don't look like it's too much difference. Maybe they are?

I likely would use the stylus but have never had a Note so who knows for sure.

Thanks for the ideas!

I've been told this by others as well. Thanks
