Should I upgrade to 4.4.4 on my unlocked, s-off, rooted VERIZON M8?

Verizon made it difficult for me to s-off, root, and unlock my bootloader. Right now I am using the Nova Prime launcher and I am very happy with my phone.

Verizon is popping up a window every 24 hours prompting me to upgrade to 4.4.4. It is very annoying. Can I disable this upgrade pop-up?

I am performing nandroid backups with TWRP and doing full backups with Titanium. The most important thing to me is that I don't indefinitely lose root.

If I restore my default recovery and re-enable the Sense 5 launcher and upgrade to 4.4.4. Will I loose root indefinitely? Will I be able to recover my phone back to the way it is now? Am I screwed no matter what I do? lol.

Please you comment, opinion, advice is greatly welcome.

You are s-off and that is great. You will need to flash the stock recovery to take to OTA. And you modified the system that will need to be back near stock. Are you on a custom rom?. I would flash a stock or stock rooted rom, flash the stock recovery, Take the OTA, Then flash your custom recovery and then the rom you were on or a stock rooted. Use the HTC back or titanium back and you will be able to restore back to where you were.
