I really want the Xoom cause of the many features it's got that I can spend forever listing. But one thjbg I've learned bout Android Devices is that they drop in price over time. Now I know more powerful tablets will come but the unlocked bootloader is attracting me to this. And I wish I wasn't in class taking a final went the OchoCinco code got out cause I would have bought it in a heart beat!

Should I wait for a price drop?

I'm not quite sure how the price of tablets differs from phones... but if you can wait it out - and it's not a "must have" for you right at this moment - then I'd say > "Yes".

Sam's club might sell the wifi version for $539. Wait until we find out if this is true or not.

If you wait long enough, the next best thing will come out, and you will wait for that price to drop. You may find yourself in and endless loop!

Pick a time and jump in and embrace your new tab with both arms and don't look back.

I'm not worried bout the next best thing in the tablets down the line. Just the iPad 2's pricing might make everyone change their pricing on tablets down the line. And an unlocked bootloader makes the difference for me. Cause the OG DROID is still kicking in high gear cause of that unlocked bootloader. And the overclocking that can be done on the Xoom and I'm sure a long shelf life will help it keep going.

But if their is a wifi $539 version coming, then I'm all game for that one and will run with both arms high up screaming XOOOOOOOOM! at people lol

I am waiting for the prices to drop, I dont need the latest and greatest just one that is decent and fits in my price range, I dont NEED one but would like to have one, I am guessing when the ipad2 comes out we will see some price drops as well as anything coming out after will be a lower price, any company that wants to compete with apple needs to get there product out there, apple has a huge lead and the only way they are going to do it is with lower prices.

I would wait a month or so to see what happens to prices as a result of the iPad2 announcement. Samsung has already announced that they are rethinking their pricing since the announcement. I think they realize they need to be priced under the iPad2 to get any traction in the market. Hopefully Motorola will come to a similar conclusion.

Same here, I will likely get the Wi-Fi only version I have a MiFi already and if the TB comes out I can connect to that as well.

I was thinking about getting the Xoom and wanted to wait for the WIFI version. I'm a true Android funboy with a Nexus one and S. I wanted a tablet since the original IPAD was released but wanted and Android Tab. I must be very honest, $800.00 is not a big deal to me, but after seeing the IPAD2 and the price point Motorola must be out of their mind if they don't at least drop the price to 729.00 to compete with the 3G/32GB IPAD2. I know the Xoom will have LTE but in order to compete they have to drop the price. My 2 cents

it will have 4G but you have to lose your tab for a week when you send it in because it was released unfinished, I sure hope the upgrade goes smooth but I have a bad feeling the whole upgrade this is going to cause a problem, I dont know what but just one of those feelings you know.....
