Shut off Bluetooth announcements

I like listening to audio books via Bluetooth while driving. My 2xl in my Toyota Tacoma announces every 60 seconds that the Bluetooth is connected. This is becoming irritating as it interrupts the playing of the book in the process. Is there any way to stop the announcement or the Bluetooth cycling that causes it?

Sounds like there's some kind of handshaking problem between your vehicle and phone. It certainly shouldn't be disconnecting/reconnecting every minute.
Have you tried other Bluetooth devices with your phone, and do they experience anything similar?
Have you checked with your dealership to see if there's a firmware update for the vehicle?

Yeah, I am getting the same announcement on my Bluetooth helmet intercom when I am riding my bike. I am pretty sure it is in my phone. I am using a book app called Libbey. If I have either the helmet or trunk radio on, I get the message and the Libbey app popping up. If I am using another app at the same time, the announcement happen and the screen will switch to Libby. It gets frustrating.

Does this problem only occur when listening to books using that app? What about other content that uses Bluetooth (streaming music; local music; phone calls)? Perhaps the problem is with the app you're using? Have you tried a different app to listen to audio books?

For Bluetooth I only do books and my phone. The problem is constant in my truck. It is pretty often on my helmet communicator but at high speed I really don't hear much on that communicator.

Have you tried a different app to listen to the books? It would help eliminate the application from the possible list of suspects.
