shutter sound has disappeared

I know everyone wants to turn off the shutter sound, but I want to have it on. (So I can tell when the picture has been taken, which can sometimes be hard to know.) In settings, the shutter sound is turned on, but I don't hear it. What is could be causing this?

Make sure you media volume is all the way up. If the device is silenced then the shutter sound will be to. If that's not not the problem then reboot the device.
