sick of it...phone going back to VZ after 6 wks

now I find that the screen will die completely while phone is sleeping. Won't wake up, buttons not operative, YET,
if I call it, the phone will ring, and the alert LED still operates. Only battery pull will restore. I've had it. Back to VZ store on Fri.

Get a warranty replacement. I've never had this issue.

If he's had it for 6 weeks that's his only choice anyway. Hope your next phone is better.

He'll be fine, I returned mine last week because the USB port broke. I couldn't unroot and relock because of no USB and got an email saying that they receceived my phone and all was good.

i've had a lockup issue during standby. do you have power control widget installed?

no.....I do have simple sound profile , widgizoid and android pro widgets.

i really think that this lockup is caused by widget in the notifications bar apps. i posted the problem to google android support so there is a number for it somewhere out there. since removing my power control widgets i haven't had the issue happen again. good luck

hi....I have Keep wifi on during sleep. - "always"... so I guess that's no....

I have a new side case where I have to really squeeze the phone in and struggle to get the magnetic closure to stay shut. That's the last time this issue happened. I am not using the case...Maybe I randomly hit a sequence of buttons that caused this.

Nobody should return the phone for replacement without doing a factory reset first. In all likelihood it's an app or widget that is causing the problems and a factory reset will clear away all problems. Not all apps play nice with ICS.

I believe i mis-answered flybass... Widzizoid is a power control app w/the drop down notification.

Before that I was using an app in which the backlight control was a bar along any the edge of the screen,,problem was I kept adjusting it by mistake when scrolling thru my browser
